- China-linked hackers are exploiting a new vulnerability in Microsoft Office
- “A newly discovered vulnerability in Microsoft Office is already being exploited by hackers linked to the Chinese government. According to Microsoft’s own security response blog, an attacker able to exploit the vulnerability could install programs, access, modify, or delete data, and even create new user accounts on a compromised system.” READ MORE
- Chipotle lovers can now buy burritos with Bitcoin, Ether, and more
- “Customers at Chipotle will now be able to pay for their burritos with cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, ether, and dogecoin, in a move that could help crypto become more mainstream. But there’s just one important caveat: Chipotle will accept the crypto through a payments system called Flexa, which is far from the decentralized technology that crypto supporters have promised for over a decade.” READ MORE
- Supreme Court temporarily blocks Texas’s social media moderation law
- “The U.S. Supreme Court temporarily blocked a sweeping Texas law on Tuesday that restricts the ability of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to moderate content on their platforms. By a 5-4 vote, the justices granted an emergency request from the tech industry to block a lower court order that would have allowed the law to take hold, pending legal challenges.” READ MORE
- Former OpenSea employee charged in first-ever case of digital asset insider trading
- “Nathaniel Chastain, the former OpenSea product manager who resigned after he was revealed to be using privileged information to sell NFTs, has been indicted for wire fraud and money laundering. This marks the first insider trading case involving digital assets. It was originally unclear if anything would happen to Chastain, following his resignation, since the sale of NFTs isn’t regulated.” READ MORE
