Recent Updates in Microsoft 365
Check out the newest features and improvements in Microsoft 365
Microsoft released many time-saving features in the Microsoft 365 (June 2022) update. We’ve outlined what’s new in Windows Desktop, Mac, iOS, and Android below!
NEW TO WINDOWS DESKTOP
- Notifications Pane
The Notifications pane helps you stay connected with notifications you might have missed by delivering relevant alerts. You can customize the types of notifications you receive, including email and document @mentions, reactions, task suggestions, deliveries, and more.
- Quick Search
If you’re searching for events, people, or anything else, they’ll appear at the top of the search results. This feature is designed to help you find the information you’re searching for even faster.
- Calendar Search
Have a series of meetings and need to see when the next one is? Microsoft has improved the Calendar search by making it easier to find events.
- Import tables from Excel or JSON files
When importing from Excel workbooks or JSON files, Power Query lets you select just the tables you need.
- Example Records
You can selectively import data from a large table by creating an example record to pull in just the records you need.
- Drag and Drop PivotTables
In PivotTables connected to Power BI, users can use the drag and drop field aggregations to quickly find sums, averages, and other functions.
- Choose how you want to work
Select between Editing, Reviewing, and Viewing to apply changes immediately, automatically track changes, or prevent accidental edits.
NEW TO MAC
- Transparent Videos
Export PowerPoint videos with a transparent background. Users can also add any background.
- Add Closed Captions to Embedded Videos
Select the video, choose Playback, and select Insert Captions.
Utilize the gridline feature to make sure your slide content is aligned perfectly.
- Create more accessible PDFs
Accessibility tags make it easier for screen readers and other assistive technologies to read.
- Link to files or websites in your comments
Give readers more information by including hyperlinks in your comments or comment replies.
MICROSOFT WORD AND OUTLOOK
- Dictation Toolbar
The Dictation toolbar located at the side of your screen makes it easier to see what you’re typing. The smaller, low-profile design can be moved around if it gets in the way. New animations also help you ensure that your words are getting captured.
NEW TO iOS
- Listen to documents without unlocking your phone – also available on Android
- Mark files as available offline so you can view or edit them when you’re not connected to the internet
