Adding Fields to Workflow Emails

Dynamics GP, Microsoft

We are frequently asked if the Purchasing Requisition and Purchase Order workflow email can include the account number description. This is just one example, but a similar strategy could be used for adding other fields to the workflow emails.

I took the following snapshot before adjusting.

Then I ran the following statements in the live database.

The first adds the value to the Available Fields, while the second adds a join to the GL00100 table for the statement to build the script that would pull the Account Description.

I then closed the workflow and re-opened, we can now see the new Account Description field.

Due to a bug, I removed the items on the right and re-added them in order, which included the Line Account Description at the end.  I then saved and re-opened and the fields are present.
